The children’s tale Peter Rabbit will be brought to life in an international feature film starring Australian actor Rose Byrne, the New South Wales government has announced.
Peter Rabbit is one of several productions, including Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge, brought to NSW by state government incentives to attract international film and high-end Australian television drama to the state. The film’s production is under way at Sydney’s Animal Logic Studio.
Byrne will work alongside the British actor and comedian James Corden, who will take on the voice of the mischievous Peter Rabbit as he clashes with Mr McGregor.
Troy Grant, the NSW deputy premier, said the production would create jobs for 55 local actors and more than 600 crew.
