The original Roseanne aired from 1988 to 1997 and famously transformed in its ninth season from a blue-collar comedy to Roseanne’s antics after winning the lottery.
Deadline reports that multiple networks like ABC and Netflix are circling an eight-episode order for a Roseanne revival, which would include original series stars Roseanne Barr, Sara Gilbert and John Goodman, as well as network interest in better reflecting blue-collar America after the 2016 election.
The series finale revealed that much of the ninth season (and the series itself) was based on the Roseanne character’s writing; with one notable tweak that Dan (Goodman) had actually died of a heart attack the previous season.
Latest off the nostalgia conveyor belt is none other than Roseanne, which will follow Will and Grace and Fuller House with its own modern revival, complete with original cast.
