My Favorite Thing is Monsters, which Sony Pictures just bought the rights to, is the debut graphic novel from Emil Ferris, an illustrator and toy sculptor.
Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall) is in talks to develop and direct the upcoming film based on graphic novel My Favorite Thing is Monsters, according to Deadline.
Here is the official description: “Set against the tumultuous political backdrop of late ’60s Chicago, My Favorite Thing Is Monsters is the fictional graphic diary of 10-year-old Karen Reyes, filled with B-movie horror and pulp monster magazines iconography.
My Favorite Thing is Monsters isn’t told with sequential panels but through Karen’s sketchbook.
