Genndy Tartakovsky tells EW that shortly after Samurai Jack’s Season 4 concluded, he was put on to helm another cult favorite Cartoon Network animated series, Star Wars: Clone Wars.
By the time Clone Wars was done, Cartoon Network had shifted its programming schedule and there was no room for Samurai Jack on the board.
Tartakovsky knew that the team could not tackle both the Star Wars project and a new season of Samurai Jack, so they paused production on the former series and hoped to return to it after Star Wars was completed.
Now, fans will finally get to see Tartakovsky’s true vision for the series’ continuation.
