Recent comments from the executive producer of Dragon Ball Super seem to be hinting at a big project set to arrive from the franchise in 2022.
During the most recent edition of Weekly Dragon Ball News on the official Dragon Ball website, executive producer Akio Iyoku began by praising the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film, before teasing that something “other than the movie” could be arriving over the course of the year.
“I’m currently working hard to get everything finished on the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, whose release date has been confirmed for April 22nd in Japan!,” Iyoku said.
There’s also a chance that something other than the movie will be coming this year too, so let’s make this year another great year for Dragon Ball together!” While it’s entirely unclear what exactly the big project could be, fans have quickly taken it to hope that a return of the Dragon Ball Super anime series is on the horizon.
