According to Deadline, singer-actress Selena Gomez is currently in the process of developing a Latina-led comedy series titled 15 Candles for Peacock, described as a “reconfiguration” of John Hughes’ classic teen comedy film Sixteen Candles.
The former Disney star is developing the half-hour-long series along with Vida creator Tanya Saracho and Gabriela Revilla Lugo (Whiplash).
Gomez first gained recognition for her leading role in the popular Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place from 2007 to 2012.
It is executive produced by Gomez through her July Moon Productions banner along with Christine Dávila for Ojalá Productions.
