Variety broke word that creator Moffat and writer/star Mark Gatiss would be tackling Dracula, as produced by Sue Vertue’s Hartswood Films and likely to end up on The BBC. It’s still very early stages (no word on whether the series would follow Sherlock with a modern approach), though the new adaptation is likely to take the same three feature-length episode format.
If you thought Sherlock liked his long coats and high collars, just wait until you meet Steven Moffat’s Dracula.
In the meantime, stay tuned for details of Moffat’s Dracula as they arrive.
For the moment, it also remains unclear when Gatiss and Moffat will find time to collaborate on the new Dracula series (and it’s certainly too early for casting), though it seems likely the new project would put off any future Sherlock for some time.
