Fast and Furious 9 opens in theaters on May 22, 2020.
The previous film, The Fate of the Furious, saw Diesel’s character Dom become a father after being blackmailed into working for the evil Cipher (Charlize Theron).
While that installment was not one of the more critically acclaimed ones in the franchise, Fast 9 will feature the return of director Justin Lin, who made Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift through Fast & Furious 6 (AKA most of the best ones), which is definitely good news for longtime Fast fans.
(There may be other spinoffs, like this summer’s Hobbs & Shaw, starring the characters previously played in the franchise by Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.)
