Roughly four months after the announcement of its development and three months after the news of its new life, Sony Pictures has revealed new release dates for the upcoming biography You Are My Friend and Bad Boys for Life.
Starring Tom Hanks (Toy Story) and directed by Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?), You Are My Friend will be a drama inspired by a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and award-winning journalist Tom Junod.
You Are My Friend will hit theaters October 18, 2019 just in time for early Oscar season, while Bad Boys for Life will debut January 17, 2020 in correlation with Martin Luther King, Jr. Day weekend.
However, it found new life in February when Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah were hired to direct the picture and stars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith were announced to be reprising their roles.
