Hollywood heavyweights Steven Spielberg and Harvey Weinstein are to lock heads having decided to make two films based on the same story.
Not that this has burned producing maestro Weinstein, however – according to The Hollywood Reporter, he plans to continue with his own version.
The duo had originally planned to work together on the project which tells the real-life story of Edgardo Mortara, a young Jewish boy in 1850s Italy, but director Spielberg recently decided to move ahead with the ‘passion project’ alone.
Weinstein – who has produced Oscar-winning films such as Pulp Fiction, The English Patient and Shakespeare In Love – has upcoming producing credits on Tulip Fever, Amityville: The Awakening and LFF favourite Lion.
