Following the success of Stranger Things, producer and director Shawn Levy has signed a huge deal with Netflix. The deal — which reportedly lasts four years and cost an eight-figure number — will see Levy develop TV projects exclusively for the streaming service.
The news of the Netflix deal comes just days after a third season of Stranger Things.
Before working with Netflix, Levy was best known for directing family films such as Cheaper by the Dozen, The Pink Panther, and Night at the Museum.
“Shawn and 21 Laps [Levy’s production company] are courageous and adept storytellers who lean into risk both narratively and by nurturing great young talent,” Cindy Holland, VP of original content for Netflix, said.
