Speculation was fueled even more when CBS and The CW teamed up for an unprecedented event, with The CW’s The Flash and Supergirl crossover debuting in late March.
There had long been rumors that the show would eventually end up at The CW, which is co-owned by both CBS and Warner Bros., since The CW currently airs a trio of hit superhero shows, Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, the later of which debuted in January.
It remains to be seen if The CW will keep Supergirl in its Monday 8 PM time slot when it debuts its second season.
Supergirl’s shift to The CW marks the first time ever a show that originated on CBS has moved to its sister network The CW, despite the network consistently denying rumors that the show would change networks.
