As previously reported, the film will be a direct sequel to 1991 action film Terminator 2: Judgement Day, with Cameron choosing to write off every other Terminator film that followed as nothing more than a “bad dream”.
Paramount has confirmed the film, which stars Makenzie Davis and Natalie Reyes, will go by the name of its working title: Terminator: Dark Fate.
Terminator: Dark Fate will be released in cinemas on 1 November.
Filmmaker Tim Miller (Deadpool) is set to direct the sixth installment in the science-fiction franchise, with original director James Cameron set to produce.
