After over four decades since 1974’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Variety brings word that Emmy winner John Larroquette (Night Court) is officially returning as the Narrator for Netflix’s forthcoming sequel to Tobe Hooper’s horror classic, which was actually the acclaimed actor’s first film credit.
In the original film, Larroquette narrated the opening title card, where he recounted the tragic fate of Sally Hardesty and her friends, where their “idyllic summer afternoon drive became a nightmare.”
The sequel will also feature the return of original final girl Sally Hardesty, who was first portrayed by Marilyn Burns in the 1974 classic.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre is directed by David Blue Garcia (Tejano) from a screenplay written by Chris Thomas Devlin (Cobweb), based on a story by Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues.
