The movie that put Julia Roberts on the map is finally coming to Broadway as a full-blown musical.
The 1990 movie starred a then-relatively-unknown Roberts as Vivian and Richard Gere as Edward Lewis, the businessman who becomes the object of Vivian’s affections.
The show will begin its Chicago production in March at the Oriental Theater, and the Broadway production will begin next fall at one of Broadway’s Nederlander theaters.
Pretty Woman, the immortal classic about a prostitute who falls in love with the man who pays her to be his date to public functions, has been turned into a Broadway show, and it’s coming in fall 2018.
