The Good Place divided viewers into those who thought it had lots of jokes and those who thought it had none.
It was a good year for reality TV, which seems to have matured into a sophisticated late stage that rewards respectable, conservative family values.
It’s debatable whether any TV can begin to match the heights of banter, pathos and skulduggery offered by our politicians this month.
I am not including repeating series in this list but a couple of things are worth noting.
