Now it looks like the Boba Fett movie is back on track, and James Mangold will be the one overseeing it.
Years back, Boba Fett was reported to be one of the first releases in what was then known as Star Wars’ Anthology lineup, and Fantastic Four’s Josh Trank was attached to direct.
Lucasfilm even had a teaser video ready to premiere at Star Wars Celebration 2015, but after Trank exited due to creative differences, the project was set aside, and it was decided that Solo: A Star Wars Story would be the second of these spinoffs.
However, plot details are being kept under wraps, so it’s unclear if this movie would be set in the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, sometime during the Original Trilogy or perhaps post-Return of the Jedi, with Boba having escaped the Sarlacc Pit, which is what happened in the now non-canon Expanded Universe.
