Hulk and Wolverine have fought in the pages of Marvel Comics numerous times over the years.
Seemingly interested in building upon that mythology, Rawson Marshall Thurber wants to get his hands on both characters and direct an adaptation of the 2005 comic book run, Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk, which was written by Lost’s Damon Lindelof.
In fact, Wolverine’s first appearance as a character was in a battle against The Incredible Hulk.
Moreover, the mention of Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige makes it clear that Thurber wants to do this project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, thus making its viability contingent upon the eventual completion of the massive Disney and Fox merger, which has the potential to merge the X-Men franchise with the MCU.
