Overall, 17.1 million unique viewers watched Scorsese’s drama in the first five days following its Netflix release, according to Variety.
According to Nielsen data cited by Variety, 751,000 US viewers watched the 209-minute movie in its entirety after it became available on the streaming platform on 27 November.
Just 11 per cent of the day’s viewers kept watching until the end, according to Variety, despite a running time of two hours – significantly shorter than The Irishman.
With a running time of three-and-a-half hours, The Irishman is Martin Scorsese’s longest film ever – so one might wonder how many people watched it in one sitting after its Netflix premiere.
