Disneyland Paris became the first Magic Kingdom-like park to serve alcohol because it was France and the French would likely riot if wine wasn’t available with dinner.
The inclusion of alcohol has always been a touchy subject for Disney Park purists, as Walt Disney himself always wanted his parks to be alcohol-free.
Disneyland in California and the Magic Kingdom in Florida abided by that rule when they were built, but when Epcot opened in 1982, the park, which was half dedicated to a World Showcase, spotlighting other nations of the world, decided to include alcohol from those places as well.
