CBS’ new drama pilot, God Friended Me, has found its lead in Brandon Micheal Hall, best known for starring in ABC’s sitcom, The Mayor, which debuted on the network last fall.
With Hall being in the first position for CBS’ God Friended Me, his casting would likely stem any future hope for The Mayor finding a new home elsewhere.
Gotham’s Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt, the duo behind Fox’s TV series Alcatraz, wrote the script for God Friended Me.
ABC pulled The Mayor from the network’s schedule last month, though according to The Hollywood Reporter, the show is “being shopped by producers ABC Studios to other outlets.”
