The title, The Spy Who Dumped Me, is an obvious take on The Spy Who Loved Me, the tenth film in the James Bond series, starring Roger Moore, Curd Jürgens and Barbara Bach. That film’s title, of course, comes from Ian Fleming’s novel “The Spy Who Loved Me,” the tenth book in the series, though the plot was different.
Lionsgate has scheduled a July 6, 2018 release date for The Spy Who Dumped Me, the action comedy starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon.
In The Spy Who Dumped Me, Audrey (Mila Kunis) and her friend Morgan (Kate McKinnon) are going about their humdrum lives when Audrey’s unassuming ex-boyfriend Drew shows up at their apartment with a team of deadly assassins on his trail.
That’s the same date that Marvel Studios is planning on opening Ant-Man and the Wasp.
