He has managed to tap into Chris Hemsworth’s proven comedic chops in ways that the Thor franchise has not managed to do over the course of the last two movies, and our hopes remain high that Team Thor: Part 2 and Thor: Ragnarok will continue that strong director-actor dynamic.
Despite the fact that we still have quite a bit of time until Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters, Team Thor has already instilled quite a bit of confidence in Taika Waititi’s ability to handle the character in ways that we have rarely seen on the silver screen.
Using a documentary style similar to his work on the cult classic movie What We Do In The Shadows, Waititi delivered an utterly deadpan (and endlessly hilarious) depiction of the Asgardian warrior that was instantly endearing.
