It was reported earlier on this year that a Nic Pizzolatto’s crime anthology series True Detective was unlikely to return for a third season.
HBO president Casey Bloys has suggested that the show isn’t as unlikely as first thought, however.
Speaking at Television Critics Association Summer Tour, Bloys stated the series “[is] not dead.”
Bloys added that “the right take” is yet to be decided but that showrunner Pizzolatto will defer writing duties to somebody else.
