HBO is yet to give an official green light to new seasons for TV shows True Detective and The Night Of, but fresh comments from programming president Casey Bloys all but confirms it will be returning at some stage in the future.
Steven Zaillian’s crime series The Night Of – a passion project of the late James Gandolfini – debuted to rave reviews last year with many praising the central performance from John Turturro and Rogue One actor Riz Ahmed who picked upa Golden Globe nomination for his role.
With the creative process behind each series now seeming to be moving, it’s only a matter of time before official word lands.
Following a huge year with both Game of Thrones and Westworld, HBO will be looking to emulate that success with the penultimate season of the former as well as the final outing for The Leftovers.
