After finding a new home at Universal Pictures following the Disney/Fox merger, Paul Greengrass (Jason Bourne) and Tom Hanks (The Post)’ upcoming drama News of the World has been set for a Christmas 2020 release by the studio.
Zengel previously starred in System Crasher, which will represent Germany as the official submission for the 92nd Oscar in the category Best International Feature Film.
Hanks, who previously worked with Greengrass on the Oscar-nominated thriller Captain Phillips, will produce alongside Gary Goetzman for Playtone and Gail Mutrux for Pretty Pictures.
News of the World was originally set up at Fox 2000, but that label was put into early retirement by Disney after the Mouse house acquired 20th Century Fox last month.
