The series blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
“I loved TV, and watched far too much The Dick Van Dyke Show and I Love Lucy and Bewitched and everything,” Feige said.
Set in the 1950s, WandaVision will follow the story of Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany’s superhero characters Scarlet Witch and Vision.
In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that Disney+’s highly-anticipated MCU series WandaVision will not only pay homage to classic sitcoms such as The Dick Van Dyke Show and I Love Lucy, but it will also take inspiration from modern comedy shows like Modern Family and The Office which both featured mockumentary-style storytelling.
