So here’s the good news: Blade Runner 2049 made more in its opening weekend than Blade Runner made in its entire theatrical run.
And in fifth place was Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Matthew Vaughn’s spy pastiche, which took in an estimated $8.1 million.
In second place for the weekend was The Mountain Between Us, a survival thriller starring Kate Winslet and Idris Elba.
It also got an A- from CinemaScore audiences, and grossed an estimated $10.1 million over the weekend.
