By the time Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story starts to wrap up, it begins making what are clearly steps towards setting up a sequel.
However, those decisions were all made before the film was completed and released to mass audiences.
From a narrative perspective alone, these threads are more than enough to justify making a direct follow-up, and it’s easy to understand why a franchise as cocky as Star Wars would want those hints dropped in.
