In both 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Snake Eyes was brought to life by Ray Park – who is the martial arts-trained actor best known for playing Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and Toad in 2000’s X-Men.
The trade report does not mention if he will be returning for the Snake Eyes movie, or even if there are plans to have the movie be set within the established continuity.
Presumably those kinds of decisions will be made once Evan Spiliotopoulos starts getting a few drafts written and they use the work to help develop the future of the franchise, which is being planned as a full-blown cinematic universe featuring other Hasbro toy brands including Micronauts, Visionairies: Knights of the Magical Light, M.A.S.K. and Rom: SpaceKnight.
