Chris Morgan, who has written all of the Fast and the Furious movies since 2006’s Tokyo Drift, will pen the spinoff, but no plot details have been revealed yet.
Word broke today from THR that the Fast and Furious spinoff movie is scheduled for release on July 26, 2019, putting it in competition that opening weekend with Terminator 6.
This news comes just a day after it was announced that Fast and Furious 9 had been delayed until April 10, 2020.
Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham also haven’t signed deals yet, though considering that this movie is intended to be a starring vehicle for them, presumably their involvement will soon be finalized.
