Most of December’s teaser trailer focused on a military transport containing Cruise’s character, Nick Morton, and his colleagues as it crashed thanks the Mummy herself working some weird magic from within her sarcophagus on a group of birds, while the last 30 seconds provided snippets of action scenes accompanied by dialogue from Russell Crowe’s Dr. Henry Jekyll.
While the Brendan Frasier Mummy series took on a swashbuckling tone, the Mummy reboot will blend the frantic action present in many a Tom Cruise movie with horror harkening back to the original Mummy movies from Universal’s classic Monsters series.
Since The Mummy is only three months away from release, ideally this new trailer will provide more specific plot details so that viewers can better gauge whether this is something that will interest them or not.
