Every movie Nolan has made since — Interstellar, Dunkirk, and now Tenet — has been accompanied by complaints about garbled sound and muffled dialogue.
The icing on the proverbial birthday cake that day was a preview of the opening scene from Christopher Nolan’s then-upcoming The Dark Knight Rises.
If not, Nolan’s goals are at cross-purposes with his techniques, and he’s shooting himself in the foot with an inverted bullet.
By the time I saw the Dark Knight Rises IMAX preview, Twitter was already filled with jokes about Bane’s incomprehensible dialogue.
