However, one of the questions left outstanding was whether or not the company’s separation from Gunn meant Marvel would not even use the script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 that Gunn had already written.
While petitions were signed and many hoped that Disney would reconsider the decision, it appears definitive now that Gunn will not be back.
Last July James Gunn was fired by Marvel Studios following the resurfacing of old social media posts in which he made jokes about the sorts of topics that one really should not joke about.
Now, at least according to the writer/director’s brother’s comments to Tulsa World, it seems that Disney will be using the script, which means now they just need to find a director willing to direct that script, rather than finding one willing to write a new one.
