It will be called Fear & Loathing, after Thompson’s famous, semi-autobiographical novel, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream.
The decadent and depraved adventures of Hunter S. Thompson are to be turned into a TV show from the production company behind The Handmaid’s Tale and Fargo.
A prolific writer and journalist, Thompson also wrote up wild experiences from the Nixon campaign trail, Kentucky Derby, Honolulu Marathon and more.
The forthcoming casting of Thompson will be key to the show’s success, with whoever lands the role working in the shadow of Johnny Depp’s popular portrayal in the movie.
