A full 20 years following its ending, a sequel series to the hit legal dramedy Ally McBeal is in the works, according to a recent report from Deadline.
The series is in early development at ABC and will be written and executive produced by Karin Gist (Mike).
According to the report, the new series will follow a young black woman who joins the law firm from the original series straight out of law school.
Originally released in 1997 and running through 2002, Ally McBeal told the story of a lawyer working in the Boston law firm Cage and Fish, and chronicled the various lives and loves of other lawyers throughout the firm.
