Amazon Studios has passed on Hot Pink, a pilot starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, according to a recent report from Deadline.
The series, which was loosely inspired by Elana K. Arnold’s National Book Award finalist What Girls Are Made Of, Hot Pink, is described as a “biting coming-of-age comedy,” which Elisabeth Holm created.
The series, which began finalizing its cast and crew earlier this year, was trying to join a slate of YA content that Amazon Studios has seemingly been interested in the past.
At the moment, it’s unclear what caused Amazon Studios to pass on the pilot, although Deadline is reporting that Annapurna Pictures will be shopping the pilot around to other platforms.
