While every season of the anthology series American Horror Story has been an entirely new setting, the cast has remained relatively consistent over its past eight seasons.
Evan Peters, who’s been in every American Horror Story since the beginning, will not be a part of the upcoming ninth installment. The actor told reporters at WonderCon (via Bloody Disgusting) that “I’m gonna sit this season out.”
The multi-award-winning anthology series from co-creators Murphy and Brad Falchuk aired its seventh season on FX last year.
Peters had a starring role in last year’s heist movie American Animals and will reprise his role as Quicksilver in the upcoming X-Men movie Dark Phoenix.
