Though that does represent a roughly 60% drop from Endgame’s opening weekend, Marvel’s biggest blockbuster has now made almost $620 million in the United States alone after just 10 days, making it the eighth biggest film in American history as well.
Avengers grossed $145.8 million in its second weekend in U.S. theaters, a number that would be a stellar debut for any other movie.
Now that Disney owns Fox, which owns Avatar, that means Disney holds control over more than four of the five biggest movies in the history of the universe.
At this point it seems a foregone conclusion that Avengers will pass Avatar to become the biggest motion picture in history. The ball’s in your court, James Cameron.
