Brittney Griner Limited Series In the Works at ABC

Details about the ABC limited series — which will be scripted — will be announced at a later date.

The ESPN documentary will chronicle Griner’s “harrowing detainment… as well as her subsequent advocacy for the release of other wrongful detainees.”

The Olympic gold medalist and WNBA All-Star — whose year-long detention and imprisonment in Russia sparked an international outcry — has inked a wide-ranging deal with Disney Entertainment Television that includes an ESPN documentary, a limited series at ABC and an exclusive interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts.
