Hot off her success with the Tony Award-winning Kinky Boots, Cyndi Lauper is at it again on Broadway, this time lending her musical talents to a stage adaptation of 1988’s Working Girl.
Fun fact: Lauper, naturally, also wrote some of the music for the SpongeBob SquarePants musical, which is coming this fall.
“I love the film [Working Girl], and its story about a woman’s very unconventional road to success in the ’80s is something I know a lot about,” Lauper said in a statement.
Lauper’s first go at writing music for a Broadway show, Kinky Boots, made her the first single woman to ever win a Tony for Best Score.
