Deadline reports that Denis Villeneuve’s Dune took in $15.5 million in its second weekend at the domestic box office, down a whopping 62%, which was more or less expected given the film’s availability on HBO Max and the Halloween holiday negatively impacting the box office.
Meanwhile, Funimation’s My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission brought in a 3-day domestic haul of $6.4 million from just 1,600 locations.
Especially after Wright’s Baby Driver became something of a sleeper hit when it grossed $107.8 million domestically in 2017.
Globally, Dune has earned $43.7 million from the big-screen format.
