According to the Los Angeles Times, Sklar was responsible for writing speeches and marketing materials for the parks, before eventually becoming the creative leader of what would become Walt Disney Imagineering in 1961.
Marty Sklar’s life reads like the sort of imaginative fantasy you’d expect from a Walt Disney movie.
In 1974 he would be named the vice president of concepts and planning, where he would oversee the development of EPCOT at Walt Disney World.
In 1955, while still a student at UCLA, Sklar was recruited by Walt himself to create the Disneyland News, a newspaper to promote the impending opening of the Disneyland Park.
