It has been over two decades since the theatrical release of David Fincher’s Fight Club, and now Variety brings word that the classic action film’s controversial ending has been completely altered for its China release on Tencent Video, which is the country’s largest video streamer.
However, it later received commercial success with its home video release which led to the film becoming an official cult classic.
During its theatrical release, the film received mixed reviews from critics, and had a poor box office performance.
Fight Club was directed by David Fincher from a screenplay written by Jim Uhls, based on Chuck Palahniuk’s 1996 novel of the same name.
