Having already worked with Damian Chazelle on La La Land, Ryan Gosling’s re-teaming with the director for First Man.
However, rather than feeling like a traditional biopic, screenwriter Josh Singer described First Man as “100 percent a mission movie” earlier this year to The Boston Globe, saying that it boasts five major action set pieces.
Gosling’s played a lot of different roles over his 20+ years of acting, but First Man marks the first time he’s portraying a real life figure in a movie.
As one might surmise from a movie with Neil Armstrong as the main character, First Man will chronicle the events leading up to the moon landing in 1969.
