Based on the popular horror video game, Five Nights at Freddy’s will be directed by Emma Tammi from a screenplay she co-wrote with game creator Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback.
According to Variety, Tony nominee Mary Stuart Masterson (Some Kind of Wonderful) has officially been tapped to join Matthew Lillard and Josh Hutcherson in Blumhouse’s long-in-development film adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s.
However, Masterson is no stranger to the horror genre, as she previously appeared in 2019’s independent film Daniel Isn’t Real.
Before Tammi stepped up to the director’s chair, Home Alone director Chris Columbus was previously attached to helm the project.
