A reboot of the CW series Gossip Girl could be coming to TV screens, an executive has revealed.
Gossip Girl was a huge hit for US TV network The CW, with sponsors estimated to have spent $28m on ads for the show in 2007 alone, and president Mark Pedowitz has confirmed it could get the reboot treatment.
Gossip Girl ran for six seasons across 121 episodes and was described in 2008 by The New York Times as “one of the biggest influences on how young women spend” money, thanks to the fashion trends it inspired.
Narrated by Kristen Bell, the series followed the lives of a group of privileged upper-class teens living in Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
