James Gandolfini once took a Sopranos writer out for dinner on the day he was fired.
Kessler said Gandolfini took him to a restaurant in New York and the late actor would introduce him as a writer on the show even though he had just lost his job.
Kessler also recalled Gandolfini telling him: “You hold your head high and know that you did great work.”
Todd Kessler, who went on to create the shows Damages and Bloodline, was let go from The Sopranos by showrunner David Chase after the end of season three.
