The big screen master of horror James Wan (The Conjuring universe, Saw franchise, The Tommyknockers) is producing an Arachnophobia remake, based on the 1990 horror comedy film directed by Frank Marshall, Deadline has confirmed.
Wan’s upcoming projects also include the horror movie The Children, a feature reboot of Stephen King’s The Tommyknockers, a Swamp Thing TV series, and The Crooked Man and The Conjuring 3 — two additional installments of The Conjuring franchise. James Wan’s Atomic Monster Productions and Amblin Entertainment will produce the Arachnophobia remake with a writer and director to be set.
James Wan recently completed Aquaman for DC and Warner Bros. and is finishing up post-production on The Nun, Wan’s latest installment in The Conjuring universe which is set to premiere on September 7, 2018.
The original movie centered around a species of South American killer spider that crosses the U.S. border in a coffin.
