To date, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has brought in $857 million worldwide, over triple the worldwide gross of the original film from 1995.
Rosenberg and Pinker previously re-wrote the script for Welcome to the Jungle, which was first written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Based on the children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg, the original Jumanji starred the late Robin Williams and was directed by Joe Johnston.
The ensemble took on the roles of video game avatars in the sequel, playing hosts to unsuspecting teenagers that were trapped in the game.
